In fact, Bitcoin is often described by its proponents as the new digital gold.
However, personally, I disagree with this remark. While Bitcoin certainly has its uses as a potential currency for high-volume, cross-border transactions, I don’t believe that Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency, for that matter) can replace gold in an investment portfolio. The two assets are intrinsically different and serve your bottom line in distinct ways.
